Ukraine will try to hold gas prices steady

Kyiv Post. Yekhanurov: Ukraine will try to hold gas prices steady for the public: "Ukraine will try to hold gas prices steady for residents in this former Soviet republic even though the government is now paying almost twice as much under a complicated deal with Russia, the prime minister said Friday."

Good for the short term but not the long.

"Some experts have suggested that Ukrainian industry could survive on prices of $110, adding that it would force the energy-inefficient chemical and steel industries to adopt new technologies."

I tend to agree that a free market is stronger in the long run. Pray for wisdom for Ukraine's leaders.
